Accessibility Statement
Effective date: March 14, 2026
Niche Teacher is committed to making its website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We are actively working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
This statement describes the current state of accessibility on nicheteacher.com, known limitations, and how to contact us if you encounter a barrier.
Current Accessibility Features
The following accessibility features are implemented on this Site:
- Skip navigation link — a "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users
- Semantic HTML — pages use appropriate heading hierarchy (h1–h3), landmark regions (main, nav, footer), and semantic elements
- Keyboard navigation — interactive elements including navigation, forms, buttons, and modals are designed to be keyboard-operable
- Focus visibility — visible focus rings are present on interactive elements for keyboard users
- Form labels — form inputs include associated labels
- Color contrast — we target a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text throughout the Site
- Responsive design — the Site is designed to work across screen sizes including mobile, tablet, and desktop
- Language attribute — the html element includes a lang="en" attribute to assist screen readers
- No autoplay media — we do not use autoplaying audio or video
- Reduced motion — animations are minimal and respect user operating-system preferences where supported
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to address them. This is not an exhaustive list:
- AI-generated output formatting — lesson plans, rubrics, and worksheets generated by the AI may not always use fully semantic HTML, which may affect screen reader reading order
- Complex data tables — generated rubric tables may not include all recommended table header markup for screen readers
- PDF/print output — the print-formatted output of generated documents has not been fully audited for document accessibility (tagged PDF)
- Third-party components — some UI components are sourced from third-party component libraries. While we select accessible components where possible, we cannot guarantee full WCAG conformance of all third-party components
- Formal audit — the Site has not undergone a full third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit. We make no representation of full certification.
