This Cookie Notice explains how Niche Teacher uses cookies, browser local storage, and similar tracking technologies on nicheteacher.com. This notice should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What We Use (and What We Don't)

Niche Teacher keeps things simple. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or remarketing tags. Here is what we do use:

Browser Local Storage (not cookies)

We store two small pieces of data in your browser's local storage — not in a traditional cookie:

• Session ID (nicheteacher_session) — a randomly generated, anonymous identifier created the first time you visit. This ID links any documents you save to "My Library" to your browser session. It contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you without additional data. It persists until you clear your browser's local storage.
• Daily usage count (nicheteacher_usage) — a counter that tracks how many generations you've used today and resets at midnight. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

Local storage data is stored entirely on your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser's settings (typically under "Site Data" or "Storage").

Essential cookies (if any)

We may set minimal essential cookies required for the Site to function correctly (for example, session authentication if you create an account in the future). These cookies do not track you across websites and are required for the Site to operate.

Analytics cookies — consent required

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity to understand how educators use the site. Both tools use cookies and are only loaded after you explicitly click "Accept Analytics" in the cookie consent banner that appears on your first visit. If you decline or ignore the banner, these cookies are never set.

• Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymized data about pages visited, events (such as generating a lesson plan), and session duration. We do not enable advertising features, remarketing, or behavioral advertising in our GA4 configuration. Data is processed by Google subject to their Privacy Policy.
• Microsoft Clarity — records anonymized session heatmaps and scroll depth to help us understand how teachers use the generation forms and output pages. It does not capture typed content in form inputs. Data is processed by Microsoft subject to their Privacy Statement.

Your consent preference is stored in your browser's local storage (nicheteacher_cookie_consent). You can change it by clearing local storage for this site.

2. What We Do Not Use

• Advertising or behavioral tracking cookies
• Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.)
• Third-party retargeting or remarketing tags
• Cross-site tracking technologies
• Fingerprinting scripts

3. Third-Party Technologies

When you use the generator tools, your input is transmitted to OpenAI's API over an encrypted connection. OpenAI may maintain logs of API requests subject to their own Privacy Policy. We do not share browser identifiers with OpenAI.

4. Your Choices

You can manage browser local storage through your browser's settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Clearing local storage for nicheteacher.com will delete your session ID and daily usage counter. Any documents saved in My Library that are associated with your session ID will no longer be accessible.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We respect browser-level Do Not Track (DNT) signals where practicable. We do not use advertising tracking, so there is no behavioral ad tracking to disable. If you enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, we treat that as a request not to share your data with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Cookie Notice when our tracking practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect when it was last updated.
